FANTASTIC ist mehr als der dreihundertste Aufguss einer HipHop-Party, genauso wie HipHop selbst längst mehr als nur Rap ist. Das Hashtag #HipHop ist der gemeinsame Nenner einer urbanen Generation, die in Berlin ihr Epizentrum gefunden hat.

1997 veröffentlicht Slum Village das Album "Fan-Tas-Tic Vol. 1.". Auf der LP verband die Band aus Detroit Rap der Gegenwart mit der Zukunft. Das Ergebnis war ein Klassiker.

Mit der FANTASTIC-Partyreihe greifen die Macher des splash! Mag aus Berlin diese Idee auf und zeigen HipHop, wie er 2013 klingt: progressiv, stilsicher und interessant.

In an era of industry-obsessed MCs, interchangeable hashtag raps, and “viral” everything, it has become increasingly difficult to find a true original in the rap game. Yet ask anyone who’s been paying attention and they’ll tell you: Danny Brown is that dude. In 2011 the Motor City MC teamed up with Fool's Gold Records and released XXX, a tour-de-force concept record about hedonism, growing up, and Detroit, which took listeners on a profane and psychedelic journey through his own uncensored ID.

After a year of universal critical acclaim - from Spin naming XXX Rap Album Of The Year to Danny covering the Metro Times and Real Detroit in the same week as their Artist Of The Year - Danny divided his time recording his debut full length LP, OLD, and appearing on tracks by the likes of A$AP Rocky, Ab-Soul, A-Trak & Purity Ring. 2013 will see the release of OLD as well as Danny’s headlining tour of the States and Europe.
